Presenting: Shelby
Shelby was the very first kitty I had for me, in my house. She’s the sweetest little creature I have ever seen. We adopted her when she was around 3 months old. When I first started to look for cats that needed a home, I was aiming for a younger cat, but after one of the kitties we were considering to adopt got sick and died before we got to meet him, I got to a point that I just wanted to stop looking, and fill our tiny house with whiskered love. I must say it was clearly one of the best decisions I have ever made. She arrived on a Sunday morning and I was home alone. The girl who brought her said she might need time to feel at ease in her new home, but she didn’t! She started to sniff around as soon as she was gently dropped on the living room’s floor, and there was no looking back. The poor girl was almost shocked by her easy-going reaction.
Her name was Finn back then. Since I noticed immediately she was a cute tiny strong purring machine, we decided to change her name to something more suitable, so this was how it turned out: Shelby (my choice) Yoshi (my boyfriend’s suggestion – but I didn’t find it girlie enough) Finn (old name). Why Shelby, you might ask? Well, she used to purr in such a powerful way, so many times, it reminded me of a sports car. So she got her name after the American Shelby Cobra (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g49ygzXRns&feature=fvwrel). She still purrs, but not she makes other cute adorable heart-melting sounds as well.
When I look back, I realize how lucky we were and also that we got exactly what we were told we would get: a kind, loving, outgoing playful kitty, in need of a family capable to give her more love and attention, and who purrs whenever she’s pet.
And this was how we got a feline princess:)
